ICC Women's World Cup, 2017 - Mithali Raj and Rajeshwari shines as India roars into the Semis #WWC17

Mithali Raj shines with the bat and Rajeshwari toppled New Zealand with bowl to take India to the Semi finals of the ongoing Women's World cup, 2017. India will now face the defending champions Australia in second Semifinals on Thursday, 20th July.
It was a D-day for both India and New Zealand. Both teams had to win the match to book semi final berth of the tournament. It started with New Zealand winning the toss and inviting Indian team to bat first. Poonam Raut, the centurion from the last match had a bad day today as she got out for just 4 runs as India lost the first wicket in 4th over of the innings. Following her soon was Mandhana who had another bad outing with the bat in the tournament. She got out making mere 13 runs. Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet then took the charge of Indian batting. Mithali, who has been in sublime form and has been leading from the front rescuing Indian batting on many occasions again played a superb innings today. She along with Harman rescued India after the openers got out cheaply. Both players reached their respective fifties. Harman then mistimed one and gave a simple catch back to the bowler on the individual score of 60. Deepti Sharma couldn't stay there for long and got out in the very next over without troubling the scorers.
Mithali(109) and Veda(70) added 108 runs in just 13 overs
Then came the hurricane which swept New Zealand. Veda Krishnamurthy who came into bat after the wicket of Sharma was at her very best and was all over the New Zealand's bowlers. She played a superb innings of 70 runs from just 45 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes and supported her captain who scored her 6th career century. Captain lead from the front with a sparkling century making 109 runs. They both helped India make 265 runs for 7 wickets from 50 overs.
New Zealand had a tough target on their hands to make it to the semi finals. Indian bowlers had some other plans. They were all over the New Zealand batters. India got very close of getting the first wicket in first over on Goswami's bowling with ball hitting the stumps beating the New Zealand opener but bails didn't get dislodged. It didn't hurt Indian much though as they struck in the very next over with Bates edging one to slips where Veda took a simple catch on bowling of Shikha Pandey. Indian bowlers gave no chance to New Zelanders to spend any time on the crease. Rajeshwari Gayakwad was the pick of the Indian bowlers taking 5 wickets. New Zealand got out for just 79 runs in 26th over of their innings.
Rajeshwari's 5/15 was her career best effort
India won the match by 186 runs to reach the semi final of the tournament where they will now face Australia. This win will boost their confidence after last two bad outings against SA and Australia. Now, they will look to take this confidence to semifinals and beat Australia there to reach to the final of WWC17.
Brief score:
India 265/7, 50 Overs, Mithali 109(123), Kasperek 3/45
New Zealand 79 all out, 25.3 Overs, Satterthwaite 26(47), Gayakwad 5/15
