India Vs Netherland, last group stage match, Hockey world league, 2017 - The last group stage match of Pool B in hockey world league between India and Netherlands was played today in Lee Valley hockey and tennis centre in London. Match was expected to be a good contest with both teams being in tremendous form in the tournament having won 3 out of 3 matches each. Match started at 6:30 pm IST and within 2 minutes Netherlands were in lead with the help of a goal from Brinkman converting a good chance into a field goal. Netherland was playing aggressively and were all over the Indian defence. They scored the second goal in the 12th minute with Baart scoring from a penalty corner. And the Dutchs didn't took much time to extend their lead to 3 goals with Pruijser scoring in the 24th minute of the match. In 28th minute Akashdeep got the consolation goal for India scoring with a cheeky flick past the Dutch keeper. After that both teams were not able to score any further goals with many chances created and missed. Match ended with final score of 3-1 to Netherlands. Netherlands now top pool B and India sits at no 2. India will play Malaysia in the Quaterfinals.
