A day to remember for India Hockey

When Pakistani cricket team was humiliating Indian cricket team in Oval, Men in blue with a hockey stick in hand were taking revenge from their Pakistani counterparts and reverted back the humiliation just few miles away in London.
Indians were riding on great form and had already proved their metal in first two clashes of Hockey world league, against Scotland and Canada beating them 4-1 and 3-0 respectively. Pakistan on the other hand had a bad start for the tournament losing both their opening matches.
Match started with Pakistan keeping the ball more in Indian half and creating chances. Indians were no where in first few minutes of the match and Pakistan was dominating the proceedings. Akashdeep missed a easy goal and hit the ball onto Keeper's pad with just keeper in between him and the goal. And then finally Harmanpreet opened the goal scoring and hit ball along the carpet for first goal in 13th min, followed by two goals from Indian forward Talwinder Singh in 21st and 24th minute and the first half ended with the scoreline 3-0 to India. Second half started with goal with Harmanpreet finding the net in 33 minute. This was Harman's second of the match. Then came one of the best move of the match with Akashdeep playing 1 to 1 with Sardar Singh, with later giving the ball to Akashdeep who slammed it past wicketkeeper to take the scoreline to 5-0, After many chances were made and blocked Pardeep Mor scored a goal in 49th minute of the match, 6th for India in the match. Pakistan played good hockey and finally found their first goal in 57th minute from the stick of Umar Bhutta. A goal bit too late. Scoreline read 6-1 at 57th minute which changed to 7-1 in 58th with Akashdeep, player of the game striking a blaster of goal into the roof. With this India made a record of highest margin defeat given to Pakistan with previous best being 7-4. Akashdeep, Talwinder and Harmanpreet found the net 2 times each and one goal scored by Pardeep Mor. One consolation goal was scored by Pakistan from the stick of Umar Bhutta. India now sits on the top of table with 9 points and Pakistan in the bottom with still a game to win. India takes on Netherland on 20th June.

Zimbabwe triumphed over weaker Sri-Lankan side, wins the fifth ODI to win the series

Zimbabwe created history winning an ODI series against Sri-Lanka in their courtyard. They won the fifth and last match to take the series 3-2. It can be eyed as the lowest point for the Sri-Lankan team who had never lost to the bottom ranked teams at home. Zimbabwe won an away series after eight years Zimbabwe won the fifth match against Sri-Lanka by 3 wickets while chasing the target of 204 runs. Srilanka batting first could only manage 203 runs from their 50 overs in the series decider. It was a poor batting performance from them as none of their batsmen were able to score freely against the brilliant spin bowling display from Raza and cremer. They both took wickets and were very economical. They gave no loose balls to any of the Sri-Lankan batters. Gunathilaka and Gunaratne both made their individual fifties but they both batted with a poor strike rate of 60.47 and 72.84 respectively.
